JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing leadership and management for the Infrastructure Process, Tools & Automation department. The department is responsible for overseeing processes that span the Infrastructure Services organization, infrastructure management tools, and infrastructure automation. This includes:

  • Fault monitoring, configuration management, performance management, discovery, topology mapping, and orchestration

  • Specific tools include IBM Netcool, Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Microsoft System Center Orchestrator, Micro Focus SiteScope, Micro Focus Server Automation, Micro Focus Network Automation, CA Performance Center, Infoblox DDI, Cisco PRIME, GE PulseNet, Megasys Telenium, Nokia SAM, Nokia NSP, Adtran AOE, and internally developed tools

  • Request forms and fulfillment processes, critical situation process, newsletter, websites, documentation, metrics, reporting, and DNS domain registration

This position will be responsible for advancing the organization toward a vision that includes the following:

  • Continue to identify and implement optimizations with existing processes and tools

  • Enable the automatic identification of dependencies and connectivity between components at multiple technology layers, to facilitate service modeling

  • Champion the infrastructure automation vision

  • Provide tools that orchestrate complex activities and reduce manual steps to fulfill requests or resolve issues

  • Accelerate root cause determination by implementing machine learning to identify patterns and correlations in massive volumes of event data

  • Use advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to predict, prevent, detect, and automatically repair issues, or immediately engage the right groups to resolve

The Infrastructure Process, Tools & Automation leader reports to the Director of Infrastructure Solutions and is responsible for approximately 9-12 IT professionals, predominantly in Atlanta, GA.

  • Partners very closely with Technology leaders, especially in Infrastructure Services, to ensure that infrastructure process and technology resources are aligned to current and future needs of the business.

  • Provides leadership for initiatives that improve and optimize infrastructure processes and technologies.

  • Supports the delivery of infrastructure solutions that are common where possible and custom where it counts.

  • Consults with business partners on matters related to the use and implementation of infrastructure processes and technologies.

  • Provides cost-effective management, rationalization and simplification of the company’s infrastructure processes, technologies, systems and projects.

  • Enforces appropriate IT policies, best practices, processes, systems and technology portfolio and lifecycle management, and program and project management.

  • Assesses the impact of infrastructure changes and quantifies the risk in order to ensure the appropriate business decisions are made.

  • Acts as a student of the business and technology, anticipating futures needs and directional shifts in both technology and energy industries.

  • Continuously monitors and evaluates the operating model and supporting organizational design to identify efficiencies and synergies and ensure efficient resource allocation.

  • Creates an organizational budget and manages financial performance.

  • Hires, develops, rewards and retains a highly qualified and diverse team.

  • Creates an environment that fosters accountability, innovation and engagement at all levels.

  • Establishes him/herself as a thought leader and integral part of the Infrastructure Services leadership team.

Education

  • Degree required; BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Prior experience in a management or supervisory position is strongly desired but not required. However, proven experience successfully leading teams is required.

  • Substantial knowledge of information technology and technology environments, in one or more of the following areas: telecommunications, networks, servers, storage, application integration and/or cybersecurity.
