Supervisor, IT Infrastructure
This position is responsible for providing leadership and management for the OT (Operational Technology) Systems and Compliance department. Where the Power Delivery organizations across Southern Company’s affiliates request technology services from the Technology Organization to implement, manage and support infrastructure for their OT systems and applications, this department is responsible for providing those infrastructure services. The department is also responsible for the NERC CIP and Separation Protocol compliance for the infrastructure that they manage. The systems infrastructure managed by the department includes but is not limited to the following:
Windows Servers and Active Directory Domain Infrastructure
Virtual Server Infrastructure
Web Proxy Servers
Citrix Remote Access
This position will be responsible for advancing the organization toward a vision that includes the following:
Trust, credibility and strong personal relationships define our partnership with OT business partners and Operations Compliance
Identify and implement optimizations with existing processes and tools for compliance and systems management
Engagement in providing input on the development of future NERC Compliance standards at a company and industry level and ensuring that Infrastructure Services is prepared for compliance with any new standards well in advance of the required compliance date
Developing the skillsets and components for managing the infrastructure so that the OT Systems and Compliance team becomes increasingly self-sufficient
The OT Systems and Compliance leader reports to the Manager of Power Delivery Specialized Infrastructure and is responsible for approximately 7 IT professionals primarily located in Atlanta and Birmingham.
Works closely with OT business partners across Southern Company affiliates on providing the infrastructure services they need as well as to ensure compliance with NERC CIP requirements for TO-managed assets..
Partners with leaders in Infrastructure Solutions and Computing Services, to ensure that infrastructure process and technology resources are aligned to current and future needs of the business and that the appropriate consulting resources from IS are available to help support the OT Systems infrastructure.
Partners very closely with Operations Compliance on our NERC CIP compliance program.
Ownership of NERC CIP compliance program and seeks ways to optimize and automate our compliance program to ensure a complete and auditable set of procedures and controls.
Partners with the Power Delivery application portfolio managers to ensure that we provide the infrastructure needed to support the OT applications

Consults with business partners on matters related to the use and implementation of infrastructure processes and technologies.
Enforces appropriate IT policies, best practices, processes, systems and technology portfolio and lifecycle management, and program and project management.
Assesses the impact of infrastructure changes and quantifies the risk in order to ensure the appropriate business decisions are made.
Acts as a student of the business, technology and compliance requirements, anticipating futures needs and directional shifts in both technology and energy industries.
Continuously monitors and evaluates the operating model and supporting organizational design to identify efficiencies and synergies and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Creates an organizational budget and manages financial performance.
Hires, develops, rewards and retains a highly qualified and diverse team.
Creates an environment that fosters accountability, innovation and engagement at all levels.
Establishes him/herself as a thought leader and integral part of the Infrastructure Services leadership team.
- Degree required; BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
Experience and Knowledge
Prior experience in a management or supervisory position is strongly desired but not required. However, proven experience successfully leading teams is required.
Substantial knowledge of information technology and technology environments, in one or more of the following areas:, servers, server virtualization, storage, application integration and/or cybersecurity.
Ability to equip the organization with the appropriate technology, skills and processes to support the transforming industry and business.
