Work Location: Georgia Power Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA or Alabama Power in Birmingham, AL
JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for supporting productivity & collaboration tools at Southern Company. This includes:
Provide expert level user support for applications in our portfolio to both technology and business partners
Manage and deploy application updates
Troubleshoot M365 related issues with various products in the suite
Investigate and evaluate MFA issues that cannot be handled by first tier support
Support strategic initiatives and projects deploying new functionality within our suite of product
The End-User Information Analyst level will be dependent upon skill/knowledge level.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills Required
Extensive desktop knowledge including installation, patching, and testing.
A working knowledge of the following tools and technologies:
Group Policy Object (GPO)
Windows Registry
Software metering technologies (MECM, Nethink, SNOW)
Microsoft 365 suite including
MS Teams
SharePoint
OneDrive
Project
Visio
Management of productivity application licensing
Resolving trouble tickets via MS Support
Ability to review log files to troubleshoot technical issues
Good working knowledge of cloud-based applications
Recognition of cyber security threats and risks, and importance of protecting the computing environment
Capacity to learn and apply new technologies and concepts
Ability to research solutions to problems, as well as stay up to date on constantly changing technology
Superb diagnostic, troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Non-Technical Skills Required
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) as well as technical writing
Works well on a geographically dispersed team
Ability to simplify complex subjects in a way that can be easily understood by non-technical audiences
High degree of focus on quality, reliability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
Flexible: can work under stress with changing direction and with minimal supervision
Self-motivated, takes initiative, removes obstacles for success
Ability to assess the impact of changes and quantify risk to ensure appropriate business decisions are made
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple shifting priorities
Education and Experience Requirements
4-yr bachelor’s degree in a computing or engineering field is strongly desired. Consideration will be given to highly qualified candidates who are currently enrolled in college, have demonstrated positive progress in their studies, and are expected to graduate with a 4-yr bachelor’s degree in less than two years
Prefer 3 years of experience in an IT related field
