Manager, Copute Security & Compliance
This position will serve as the Compute Security and Compliance Manager for Computing Services that is responsible for remediations, patching, planning, risk mitigation, and reporting pertaining to systems within the Computing Services organization regarding security and compliance efforts. This position is not doing what TO Security does but works with TO Security to better secure the Computing Services systems via patching, configuration changes, security endpoint health, and security zoning, etc., efforts.
Computing Services is responsible for Linux, Windows, and VMWare operating systems as well as storage and integration technologies. It includes approximately 6000 Operating Systems, 900 Middleware servers with various integration and platform systems, 700 VMware servers, and 14 PB of storage across all parts of the US where Southern Company has a presence.
Work in coordination with all departments of TO Security and Computing Services to enable better planning, resource management, alignment, and success in the security and compliance efforts within Computing Services.
Primary coordination point from Computing Services with TO Security and other TO towers.
Subject matter expert of current and future TO Security strategies and Computing Services impacting initiatives, and responsible for communication with Computing Services Management.
Work with TO Security and Computing Services Leadership to drive decreased risks for the organization.
Lead the development, with various stakeholders and Business Intelligence SME’s , of standard reporting that summarizes Computing security and compliance risk for the leadership team
Lead efforts with stakeholders to maximize efficiency of the management of security vulnerabilities owned by Computing Services.
Lead efforts to maximize efficiency of security patching of infrastructure related technology.
Lead the collaboration of governance between TO Security and Computing Services in management of critical infrastructure.
Collaboration with TO Security and Computing Services of possible security threats and determining the best security mitigations.
Providing TO Security input into security protocols, policies, and plans
Meeting with various areas of Infrastructure Services to discuss IS security measures and provide information.
Remaining up to date with the latest infrastructure and security systems, tools, trends, and technology.
Maintain security and confidentiality of information.
General Manager responsibilities such as hiring, time and expense approvals, performance management, financial management, etc.

The Manager would be responsible for leading the Compute Security and Compliance team of approximately 10 technologists.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, security, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in security management or infrastructure management.
Excellent technical skills to work with the TO Security and Computing Services team to secure our systems while being aligned with the business's requirements.
Strong endpoint security skills.
Proven ability to operate at a high leadership level while maintaining good relationships.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to present technical jargon in an understandable way.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
A highly logical, honest, and objective nature.
Good teamwork and time management skills.
Familiarity with multiple computing services technologies.
